Accessibility statement

1. About this statement
Philmarket Oy (business ID 3636423-6) operates this marketplace. As a service provider that is a microenterprise, Philmarket is currently outside the scope of the accessibility statement requirement under the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882, Article 4(5)). We publish one anyway, voluntarily, because good accessibility benefits our users directly — regardless of what the law happens to require of us at any given time.
2. Our goal
We aim for Philmarket to meet WCAG 2.1, level AA. Among other things, that means the site should be usable with a keyboard alone, that text and interface elements have sufficient contrast, and that forms and error messages make sense to a screen reader.
3. Current status
We partially meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Addressed so far:
- Visible focus indication on every interactive element, throughout the app.
- The country picker in the search and listing flows works with a keyboard (arrow keys, Enter, Escape).
- The menus in the main navigation open and close with a keyboard and report their expanded state to screen readers.
- Consistent error announcement (for example on a failed sign-in or payment) for screen readers.
- Text colours checked, and adjusted where needed, to meet the AA contrast requirement.
- A "Skip to content" link, so repeated navigation can be bypassed.
- Every page is served with the correct language marking for the language you are reading it in.
4. Known limitations
- We have not carried out a full manual screen reader review of every page — the work so far is based on a review of the code and targeted fixes to the shortcomings we found.
- The image tools can now be operated with a keyboard. In the perforation gauge, the bulk scan tool and the centering adjustment, arrow keys move the current selection or corner, Shift takes larger steps and Alt resizes. All three also take a typed value: the centering adjustment and the bulk scan tool as a percentage of the image, the perforation gauge in pixels of the scan.
- Images that sellers upload to their listings are described by the seller. We cannot guarantee that every image description is fully descriptive.
- Text written by other users, such as forum posts, is not reviewed by us for readability or structure.
- Payment at checkout goes through Stripe's payment page, which sits outside our own code but which Stripe is itself responsible for keeping accessible.
