How Philmarket works

Philmarket is operated by Philmarket Oy, a Finnish limited company (osakeyhtiö), business ID (Y-tunnus) 3636423-6.

  • What we do. Sellers list items at a fixed price or at auction. The contract of sale is concluded directly between the seller and the buyer under the model terms of sale. Philmarket only provides the platform and is neither the seller nor the seller's agent (Terms of Service §3).
  • Who sells. Private individuals and traders. Every listing shows which, and that decides your consumer rights.
  • Order. Search results are ordered as you choose; paid visibility never affects the order (how offers are ranked).
  • Price. As a buyer you pay no fee to Philmarket, only the price and shipping. Sellers pay according to the price list.
  • Payment. You pay by card through Stripe to the seller's account. We hold back the payout as the Terms of Service §8 provide. Philmarket does not hold the money.
  • Insurance. Philmarket offers no insurance or guarantees for purchases.
  • Disputes. Contact the seller first, then us. As a consumer you can turn to a consumer disputes body — in Finland the Consumer Disputes Board (Kuluttajariitalautakunta) — or to your European Consumer Centre (Terms of Service §16).
